Drop a Fruit Plot Upgrades: What Each One Changes
Drop a Fruit plot upgrades and what each one changes: tool capacity, roll speed, slot expansions, water, drop speed, plus the post-rebirth upgrades.
In Drop a Fruit, plot upgrades are where your coins go: the starting panel includes tool capacity, roll speed, the rabbit and food slots, water, and drop speed, and after a rebirth a second tier opens up with auto roll, auto collector, fast collector, cooldown and luck upgrades. Everything is bought with coins, so here is what each upgrade changes. If you want a recommended purchase order rather than definitions, the plot progression page covers the spending order.
| Upgrade | What it changes | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Tool capacity | How much the collection tool carries before each throw into the hole (starts at 5) | Upgrade panel |
| Roll speed | How fast fruit rolls finish | Upgrade panel |
| Rabbit slots | How many placement slots the rabbit area has (starts at 10) | Upgrade panel |
| Food slot | Adds one more food slot | Upgrade panel |
| Water | Fruit grows bigger; upgrading it makes the money that comes out bigger | Upgrade panel |
| Drop speed | How fast fruit drops | Upgrade panel |
| Auto roll, auto collector, fast collector, cooldown, luck | Automatic rolling with rarity toggles, automatic collecting, cooldown levels, and higher luck | After rebirth |

Tool capacity: fewer trips to the hole
The collection tool picks up coins and fruit when you press it and dumps the whole batch into the hole, so you don't need to pick items up one by one. It carries 5 items at first, and the tool capacity upgrade increases how much it holds before each throw. It's the natural early buy: more capacity per throw means fewer trips for the same pile of coins. If you are still learning the collect-and-throw loop itself, the how to play guide walks through it.
Roll speed: faster rolls
The roll speed upgrade makes fruit rolls finish faster — after buying it, rolls are visibly quicker than before. For more on rolling, see how to roll fruits. One thing to expect early on: the panel can reach a point where nothing more can be upgraded yet. That's normal — some upgrades are gated behind progress or money and open up once you meet the requirement.
Slot expansions: rabbit area and food slots
Slot expansions raise how much your plot can hold. The rabbit placement area starts at 10 slots and can be increased, and the food slot can be expanded to add one more slot. Both cost coins — if you try to buy with too little money, the purchase simply fails, so top up first. And fill the slots you already have before buying more: an empty slot earns nothing. How placement works in detail is on the placement slots page.
Water and drop speed: bigger money, faster drops
Water is the plot's income lever. Giving the plot water makes the fruit grow bigger, and upgrading water makes the money that comes out bigger — you can see the difference, since payouts come out as coins in a different, higher-value color after an upgrade. Drop speed is the pace lever: upgrading it makes drops come faster — one player calls it "leveling up the gold machine."
Upgrades that appear after rebirth
A second tier of upgrades doesn't show in the starting panel. After a rebirth, upgrades such as auto roll, auto collector, fast collector, max-level cooldown and luck open up. Auto roll can roll by rarity — set it on for rare, off for common — the collectors do the picking up for you, and the luck upgrade raises your luck. The exact unlock requirement for each one isn't spelled out; what is clear is that they arrive after a rebirth and are bought with a large pile of accumulated coins.
Shop items are not plot upgrades
The shop sells items that look similar but work differently. The magnet and shoes save time collecting, but they don't raise your earnings, so they can wait until the core upgrades are bought. The shop also stocks a time skip (shown at 900 coins) plus other consumables.
How upgrades fund the next upgrade
Coins and upgrades form the whole progression loop. Plot upgrades unlock better fruits and tools, each upgrade makes the next fruit fall worth more, and locked fruit stays locked until you can pay for it — so a bigger fall payout is what makes the next upgrade affordable. If you're short of a price tag, the coins guide covers earning faster, and the current codes can top up your balance.
